Community agencies in Cheyenne are partnering to offer Wyoming’s first ever Parent Leadership Training Institute. The Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) is a 20-week course designed to provide parents, youth, and communities with the knowledge, skills, and tools for leadership. The goals of PLTI are to promote positive parent leadership development by:
- Helping parents become leaders in their communities through civic involvement;
- Assisting parents to be change agents on a neighborhood, regional and state level;
- Developing supportive communities of families within the state;
- Promoting parent involvement in state and local policy decision-making processes; and
- Increasing parent-child interaction through family involvement.
If you live in the Laramie County area and are interested in creating positive changes for children, contact Stephanie Harris at our Cheyenne office (307-635-3536 or sharris@wpic.org) for more information about this wonderful opportunity!
