Services & Resources
To provide the best, most up-to-date and appropriate information, referral, and support Wyoming Family 2 Family is constantly becoming informed of the latest news and updates regarding the law, education, medicine, human services, rehabilitation and technology. For additional support or services not described below, please contact WY F2F.
We share information and support with each other and parents who are faced with disabilities and chronic illnesses so that together we can make a difference for our children.
Workshops
PIC's Outreach Parent Liaisons offer workshops around the state on rights and responsibilities under IDEA, on the IEP process and on creating better communication with the professionals who work with our children. Several disability specific workshops are also available, as are workshops on other issues such as siblings, friendship and parental self-esteem -- all focused on how these issues affect a family that is faced with disabilities.
Parent to Parent Connection
PIC maintains a database of parents who have volunteered to provide support to other parents. This list can be accessed to connect parents with other parents in a community, or who are dealing with similar disability issues. PIC also maintains contact with national and international organizations who specialize in connecting parents whose children have the same disability or condition, and with several national disability information sources. Please contact us to get the name of a parent you can connect with in your area.
Lending Library
PIC's extensive lending library of books, videos and audio tapes is available to parents and professionals. Resources on specific disabilities, education, parenting, behavior management, siblings, transition and various other disability issues are available. The only cost to those borrowing materials from the library is the return postage.
